Chapter 2 - The Three Boys

Y/N walked through the university courtyard, trying to figure out where her first class was. She had checked the campus map three times already, but somehow the buildings still seemed to look exactly the same. Students moved around her in every direction, and the more she walked, the more confused she became. She finally stopped near a large fountain and looked down at her phone.

Y/N: "Building C... where is Building C?"

She turned around, hoping to spot a sign, but instead accidentally bumped into someone walking behind her.

Y/N: "Oh! I'm so sorry."

The papers in the person's hands fell onto the ground.

Y/N immediately crouched down to help pick them up.

Y/N: "I'm really sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going."

??: "It's okay. Are you hurt?"

Y/N looked up and saw a tall boy smiling at her. He had dark hair, warm eyes, and an expression that somehow made her feel less embarrassed.

Y/N: "No, I'm fine."

The boy picked up the last sheet and stood.

??: "You look a little lost."

Y/N sighed.

Y/N: "That obvious?"

He laughed.

??: "A little."

Y/N looked at the paper in his hand.

Y/N: "I'm trying to find Building C."

The boy pointed toward the opposite side of the courtyard.

??: "You're going in completely the wrong direction."

Y/N's eyes widened.

Y/N: "Seriously?"

??: "Seriously."

She covered her face for a moment.

Y/N: "Great. First day and I'm already lost."

The boy smiled.

??: "I'm Taehyung, by the way."

Y/N looked at him.

Y/N: "Y/N."

Taehyung nodded.

Taehyung: "Nice to meet you, Y/N."

There was something strangely comfortable about the way he said her name. Y/N quickly pushed the thought away.

Y/N: "Thanks for helping me."

Taehyung: "I'll show you the way."

Y/N: "You don't have to."

Taehyung: "I know. But if I leave you alone, you'll probably end up in another department."

Y/N laughed despite herself.

Y/N: "I wouldn't!"

Taehyung raised an eyebrow.

Taehyung: "You were walking toward the parking lot."

Y/N immediately became quiet.

Y/N: "...Okay. Maybe you have a point."

They started walking together toward Building C. Y/N stole a quick glance at him. He seemed friendly enough, but she reminded herself that she had only met him a few minutes ago.

She wasn't going to get attached to anyone.

That was her rule.

As they reached the building, a familiar voice suddenly called out.

Jungkook: "Taehyung!"

Taehyung turned around.

A boy was jogging toward them with another boy walking calmly behind him. The first boy had a bright smile and looked full of energy, while the second had a softer expression and an easygoing smile.

Jungkook: "We've been looking everywhere for you."

Taehyung: "Why?"

Jungkook: "Because you disappeared."

Jimin finally caught up with them and looked at Y/N.

Jimin: "Who's this?"

Taehyung looked at Y/N.

Taehyung: "I found her wandering around campus."

Y/N frowned.

Y/N: "Excuse me? I wasn't wandering."

Jungkook laughed.

Jungkook: "Were you lost?"

Y/N crossed her arms.

Y/N: "Maybe."

Jungkook: "I knew it."

Y/N: "Why does everyone keep saying that?"

Jimin laughed softly.

Jimin: "Don't worry. Jungkook got lost during his first week too."

Jungkook immediately looked offended.

Jungkook: "That happened once."

Jimin: "Three times."

Taehyung laughed, and Y/N couldn't help smiling.

Jungkook held out his hand.

Jungkook: "I'm Jungkook."

Y/N: "Y/N."

Jimin smiled and introduced himself next.

Jimin: "I'm Jimin. Nice to meet you."

Y/N: "Nice to meet you too."

The three boys seemed to know each other well. They joked constantly, interrupted each other, and seemed completely comfortable together.

Y/N found herself enjoying their company more than she expected.

Then her phone began ringing.

She looked at the screen.

Yoongi Oppa.

Y/N immediately answered.

Y/N: "Hello?"

Yoongi: "Did you find your classroom?"

Y/N smiled.

Y/N: "Yes."

She glanced at Taehyung, Jungkook, and Jimin.

Y/N: "Actually, someone helped me."

There was a brief silence on the other end.

Yoongi: "Someone?"

Y/N smiled.

Y/N: "Yes. His name is Taehyung."

Taehyung's eyes widened slightly.

Taehyung: "Taehyung?"

Y/N covered the phone and looked at him.

Y/N: "My brother."

Taehyung suddenly understood.

Taehyung: "Wait... Yoongi?"

Y/N nodded.

Taehyung looked at Jimin and Jungkook in surprise.

Taehyung: "She's Yoongi's sister."

Jungkook's eyes widened.

Jungkook: "You're Min Y/N?"

Y/N looked confused.

Y/N: "Yes... why?"

Jimin smiled.

Jimin: "We've heard a lot about you."

Y/N's eyes widened.

Y/N: "You have?"

Jungkook laughed.

Jungkook: "Yoongi talks about you all the time."

Y/N looked at her phone.

Y/N: "Oppa!"

Yoongi immediately realized what was happening.

Yoongi: "They're there, aren't they?"

Y/N: "Yes!"

Yoongi: "Put Taehyung on the phone."

Y/N handed the phone to Taehyung.

Taehyung: "Hyung?"

Yoongi's voice became noticeably warmer.

Yoongi: "You found my sister?"

Taehyung: "She was lost."

Y/N: "I was not lost!"

Jungkook burst out laughing.

Yoongi: "Take care of her today."

Taehyung smiled.

Taehyung: "Don't worry, hyung. I've got her."

Y/N looked away, pretending not to hear.

After Taehyung ended the call, Jungkook looked at Y/N with a mischievous smile.

Jungkook: "So you're the famous little sister."

Y/N laughed.

Y/N: "Apparently."

Jimin smiled.

Jimin: "You should have lunch with us."

Y/N hesitated.

She had only known them for a few minutes, but somehow the three of them already felt strangely familiar.

Y/N: "Okay."

Taehyung smiled.

Taehyung: "Then it's settled."

None of them knew it yet, but that simple lunch invitation would become the beginning of a friendship that would change all four of their lives.

And Y/N certainly didn't know that two of the boys standing beside her would eventually develop feelings for her.

She only knew one thing.

For the first time since entering the university, she didn't feel alone.
